Describing the lyrical content of the song, vocalist Axel states:
“it is about self medicating and substance abuse. As anxiety and mental health issues reign over our sanity, many of us seek to numb that pain away. A marriage of drugs and alcohol is often the painkiller we fall in love with.”
It does what you would want from a psychedelic rock track and it strays into desert rock territory at time, taking a leaf out of BRMC’s book. Althought the vocal delivery comes from a more punk rock rooted place, less croon and more shouty. It’s a marriage that takes it in a different direction from some of their peers, and if they manage to polish this sound they could be on to a good formula for some good crossover potential.
Nowhere To Go is out now on Red Thread.
