Belarusian trio Molchat Doma have shared a new video for the first single from their new album, ‘Monument’, due out on November 13, 2020 via Sacred Bones Records. “Ne Smeshno”, in translation “Not Funny” reflects the current pandemic and revolutionary events in the band’s native Belarus. The filmmaker Darya Zhuk adds: “We fought hard against production risk to shoot in Belarus, but we got lucky to capture symbols of the authentic spirit of the band’s native city of Minsk in these tumultuous times. I hope the video can act as an antidote to horrible news we watch everyday while providing a poetic explanation to what’s happening.”
‘Monument’ is a fitting title for Molchat Doma’s third album as it stands as a monument to everything they’ve achieved in their short time as a band. With ‘Monument’ they’ve greatly expanded the scope of their music while retaining everything that made them great in the first place.
