Israel Nash visited UK this June to perform in Oxford and Guildford. This amazingly talented artist from Texas mixes folk and psychedelic rock to create striking and impressive musical and spiritual journeys. There were around hundred visitors who gathered on 16 June at St Mary’s church in Guildford to hear some of the new songs from his upcoming Lifted album. However, Israel Nash didn’t neglect to please the audience with his older material.
It was a great pleasure to hear the songs in acoustic interpretation; Israel Nash, his guitar and harmonica mesmerised everyone! The setting for this atmospheric show couldn’t have been better; the old church walls supported Nash with wonderful acoustics. Between songs from Barn Doors And Concrete Floors, Rain Plans and New York Town, he played three new songs, starting with “Rolling On”. During the set we could also hear “Lucky Ones” and “Sweet Springs”.
The show was rather intimate. Israel Nash entertained the loving audience with his acoustic soundscapes and wonderful vocal performance, as well as personal tales, sincerity and open heartedness. He spoke vividly about his daughter and his experiences 
as a musician. We felt we could really get a glimpse of his life as an artist who writes, records and performs. His anecdotes were funny, yet warm-hearted and inspiring, and near the end of the show, he invited a few members of the audience to join him on percussions. Israel Nash left us in good spirits and hope that the world is full of hidden treasures and beautiful moments, like this show was.
